First team in its first season (at a new school) in Clay County to win a Regular Season District game, win a County game, to beat a team twice in a season, to win the first game in school history.......two players made all county, one on Second team.......ended the season 4-4 in the last eight games......played in a district where four teams were ranked in the top 15 in the state for most of the season....the future is bright for the Knights........


2011-2012 Season........The Next Step.........and Big steps they were.........

Finished the Second Full Season with a 12-14 record. Beat rival Orange park 2 of the 3 times once in the First Round of State District Tournament action. 7 game improvement in wins from first season. 5 players were named All-County: Honorable Mention; Derian Fraga, Vincent Hill-Estep, Chris Fanner, Matthew Gilchrist. Tory Mitchell was First Team All-County. Second Team All-Area by Jacksonville.com and the Florida Times Union.


Summer 2012--Won Championship of Warrior Team Camp at Webber International University

2012-2013 Season.....The Journey Continues........

Finished the Third Full Season with a 13-11 record.....marking the most regular season wins in school history to this point....Won the most in county games in a season, beating Orange Park (@OP), Middleburg (twice, first time we have beaten Middleburg) and Clay (twice).....Had 3 regular season district wins finihsing in third place for the first time.......Also were able to beat Nease (twice) for the first time once at Home and once on the Orlando Magic Court at the Amway Center, marking our first victory in the Showdown in O-Town in 2 previous tries......Junior Vincent Hill-Estep was named All-Clay County First Team (only Junior to have that honor this year) and Senior Derian Fraga was named All-Clay County Second Team. Sophomore Kevin Thomas-Griffin was named by the Clay Today Sports Editor Randy Lefko as a member of his Basketball Six Pack, his top six players from the county from this past season......First two players in OHS history to sign letters of intent to play college basketball. Tory Mitchell and Derian Fraga signed with Webber International University.

2013-2014 ............ Big Steps to Leaps Forward
Finished the Fourth Season in school history with an 18-8 record.....marking the most wins in a single season.....finished First in the regular season District 2-6A with a 6-2 record and won the right to host the district tournament. Winning the District Semi-Final game versus Middleburg and advancing to the District Final versus state ranked Gainesville. The Knights lost a good game in the District Final, but still earned the first FHSAA Regional Tournament berth....We were able to post a 10-1 record versus Clay County opponents on the season.....We were able to beat a state raked Gainesville (#9) at home and went on to great victories versus Lake City Columbia (twice), Fleming Island (twice)(first time beating Fleming Island), Atlantic Coast (twice); Ridgeview, Middleburg, OP and Clay (twice each), we were able to beat Ponte Vedra in the Clay-St. John's Shootout, Paxon in the Thanksgiving Classic, and beat 8A Miramar High out of Miami in the MLK Classic.....Senior Dwayne Jackson and Junior Kevin Tomas-Griffin were named All-Clay County First Team, Senior Sean Jones and Sophomore Nick Strawter were named All Clay County Second Team, while Josh Davis, Datarie Edwards, Jon Bryant and Jeremy Brockington were named Honorable Mention All Clay County....Senior Vincent Hill-Estep , Senior Dwayne Jackson, and Junior Kevin Thomas-Griffin were all voted Honorable Mention All-First Coast by the Jackonville Times Union.....Senior Dwayne Jackson was selected to the Northeast Florida vs. Duval All-Star Game.....


2014-2015.....Ethos, the building of a culture and a program
Finished the fifth year in school and program history with a 17-11 record. Finishing 4-4 in the regular season District 2-6A and advancing over Lake City Columbia in the district semi-final to meet #2 ranked in the state Gainesville High in the district final for the second straight year. The Knights came up short in the final yet advanced to play Pensacola for the second straight season in the FHSAA Regional Quarterfinal. We posted an undefeated 10-0 Clay County record for the first time in school history. We were able to post great victories throughout the season Fleming Island (twice), OP (twice), Clay (twice), Middleburg (twice), and Ridgeview (twice). We were able to beat a very good Pensacola Washington team in the Thanksgiving Classic at Jackson. In the Kiwanis Club Holiday Tournament we were able to beat IMG Academy in the first round, lost to state ranked Gainesville and won the consolation game versus Union County. We pushed top 10 in 7A Melbourne High to the limit only to fall by 6 points. In the St. Johns Holiday Tournament the Knights were able to beat the host school St. Augustine in the first round and in the semi-final beat a very good Atlantic Coast team. In the finals lost to an undefeated Bolles. Before district play we had another key victory over perennial state power Mainland in the the Hoop Exchange Northeast Florida Shootout. 8 of our 11 losses were to teams ranked in the top 7 in 4A, 6A, and 7A this season showing our willingness to play great competition. Four of our losses were to State Finals Runner Up Gainesville. All 5 starters were selected for All Clay County Honors: First Team- Jon Bryant and Kevin Thomas-Griffin, Second Team-Nassir Little and Jeremy Brockington, Honorable Mention- Andrew Harper. Kevin Thomas-Griffin was selected to the BSN Sports Senior All Star Game-Duval vs. NE Florida and Florida Times Union/Jacksonville.com All First Coast Honorable Mention.

2015-2016.....DTBG (Dare To Be Great).........
Finished the sixth season in school and program history with 17-9 overall record. Finishing 5-3 in the regular season District- 7A. As the #3 seed in the district semi-finals Oakleaf played Bartram Trail High School who had previously beaten us in both regular season games. With a terrific second and third quarter the Knights were able to beat Bartram Trail 59-37 to advance to a third straight district title game. In the district final in the Palace of Oakleaf, the Knights took on #1 seed and #7 in class 7-A Creekside. In a high energy championship game the Knights behind 41 second half points captured the first district title in school and program history by a score of 75-72. The next week the Knights would fall to Atlantic Coast High School in an overtime thrilling regional quarterfinal game. The season was a tremendous success both individually and collectively as a team. The Knights finished the season as "Clay County Champs" with a 7-0 record. Beating OP (twice), Clay (twice), Fleming Island (twice), and Middleburg (once) in county; beating in District Creekside (1), Buchholz (2), Fleming Island (2); overall wins versus Miami Northwestern, Bradford, Sandalwood, Orlando Evans, and Baldwin. We once again traveled to Orlando to take on top 5 ranked Melbourne High School at the Amway Center, in a great comeback scoring 37 second half points only to come up short. Oakleaf posted terrific wins during the regular season, going on the road and beating Buchholz 47-42 with a fourth quarter in which we held them to one point. Knights also went on the road to beat 8A Sandalwood 50-45 in the Coaches Classic @ Wolfson and perennial power Orlando Evans 61-53 in the Hoop Exchange North Florida Classic @ Potters House. After Holiday break the Knights finished the season with a 9-1 record.

2016-2017.....B3 (Build, Believe, Brotherhood)
Finished the seventh season in school and program history with 14-12 overall record. Finishing 3-5 in the regular season District 4-8A. As the #4 seed in the district quarter-finals Oakleaf played county rival Fleming Island High School and came away with a post-season win. This marks the fifth striaght year with a district tournament win. In the district semi-final the Knights took on #1 seed and #4 in class 7-A Creekside. In a high energy game the Knights fought but came up short. The Knights finished the season as "Clay County Champs" with a 7-2 record. Beating OP (1), Clay (1), Fleming Island (3), and Middleburg (2) in county; beating in District Creekside (1), Fleming Island (3); overall wins versus Cornerstone Christian, Bradford, Cocoa, Windsor Forest (GA.), Flagler Palm Coast, and Deland. The Knights completed another first in school history by defeating Windsor Forest (GA.), Flagler Palm Coast and Deland en route to the 2016 Bozard Ford St. Augustine High School Holiday Tournament Championship. This marked the first regular season Tournament championship. The final versus Deland was a back and forth game that went to overtime. The game concluded with a Dominique Mitchell rebound put back at the buzzer to win the game 60-59 We once again traveled to Orlando to take on top 5 ranked Melbourne High School at the Amway Center. In other notable games during the season, the Knights won the Consolation Game of the Bradford Kiwanis Club Tournament with a 3/4 court heave at the buzzer to win the game by Deonte Sherwood. Jonathan Bryant II went over 1,000 points for his career, finising with a boys basketball record 1,381 points, 454 rebounds, and 116 steals for his career. Jon was awarded Clay County Boys Basketball Player of the Year, after winning it last season, he becomes the first two time and back to back winner of the award ever. Chantz Williams as a freshman set the school single season block record with 106 and the single game record of 11 vs, Cocoa High in the MLK Classic at Ribault. The Knights scored 87 points versus Windsor Forest (GA.) in the SAHS Holiday Tourney marking it the most points ever scored in a regulation game by an Oakleaf team. Team 7 will go down as one of the most decorated individually and team award/accomplishment wise in program history.

Team 8 was a group that donned the name Team Synergy for there hard work, togetherness, and unselfishness. Finishing the 8th season in school history with a record of 15-9 Team 8 had numerous accomplishments and honors. With quality wins over Orange Park, Fleming Island, Clay (2), Middleburg(2), Ridgeview (2), Lake Region, Ponte Vedra, Bartram Trail, Buchholtz, Lee, Cook County (Ga.), and Fitzgerald (Ga.). From Saich Williams game winning steal and layup to beat Fleming Island, to Deonte Sherwood's scorching 35 point performance vs. Fitzgerald (Ga.), Willie Edwards top ten in the state with 66 steals, to Chantz Williams back to back seasons of top five in the state in block shots, to Deonte Sherwood's 30 point game and three to send the Clay game on the road to overtime and then Kenny Thomas driving layup to beat Clay in overtime, to the 49 point second half in Lakeland to beat Lake Region HS 73-54 after being down 6 at the half. An awesome and entertaining season was produced by the players of Team 8; Team Synergy.

2018-2019 Team 9 C3 (Create a Culture of Champions - On the Court, In the Classroom and In the Community)

Team 9 was a cohesive team that truly bought in to our program motto of creating an outstanding culture and had tremendous chemistry. A team that dominated on defense finishing in the top 5 in scoring defense in the area for the 5th consecutive year. With a grinding style Team 9 wore opponents down and won a program tying 8 games in a row enroute to the best record for a season in program history at 18-7. Feam 9 had numerous accomplishments and honors. With quality wins over Orange Park (2), Fleming Island (1), Clay (2), Middleburg(2), Ridgeview (1), Lake Minneola (1), Bartram Trail (2), Buchholtz (1), Lee (1), Baker County (1), Creekside (2), Sandalwood (1), Fletcher (1). In a magical district tournament week the Knights found themselves in two tremendous games versus terrific opponents. In a grinder of a game in the District Semi-Final @ Bartram Trail vs. Bartram Trail both teams went toe to toe. With under a minute left in the fourth quarter Kenny Thomas hit a three pointer to put the Knights up for good to advance to there fourth district title game in the past six years. In the district championship game the Knights ran in to #3 in 8A and county rival Fleming Island. Fleming had a terrific season and was 22-1 going in to the title game. From the beginning the Knights controlled play, taking care of the ball, getting quality shots and playing lock down defense. In a great performance Oakleaf won the 2019 District 4 8A championship 46-34 over Fleming Island. Team 9 will go down as one of the most talented all around teams in program history, not only winning a district title and having the best record ever but in the classroom as well they attained a 3.59 team gpa the highest ever team gpa. 9 players mad FACA 8A Region 6 Academic All State honors. Chantz Williams capped his great season while capturing to all time program individual records by being the new leader in blocks (292) and rebounds (520).
 An awesome, entertaining, and wildly successful season was produced by the players of Team 9; They truly did build a Culture of Champions in every way possible.

Team 10 was a group that donned the team slogan Be R.A.A.D. (Reliable, Available, Accountable, Dependable) for there hard work, togetherness, coachability and unselfishness. Finishing the anniversary 10th season in school history with a record of 14-11 Team 10 had numerous accomplishments and honors. With quality wins over Orange Park, Father Lopez, Milton, Matanzas, Sandalwood (2), Hope Christian, Clay (2), Ridgeview, Ponte Vedra, Bartram Trail, and Atlantic Coast. From a season highlighted by plays and performances like Corey Humbles dagger three vs. OP home to seal the win, to Amari Fletcher's steal and free throws to beat Father Lopez in the Deland Holiday Tourney, to the rally to beat Sandalwood down 8 points with just over a minute to go to win on the road, to Markel Allums stat stuffing season that saw him have first in school history with 250+ points, 100+ rebounds, 60+ assists, 50+ steals, 50+ blocks in a single season, to Nick Lowery becoming just the 5th sophomore to score over 250+ points in a season and set the 3pt record for makes and percentage in a single season, to a 6-1 home court record at the Palace of Oakleaf, to finishing 4th in team gpa in the State Championship for All Academic Team in FHSAA 7A. Team 11 WWE (Weave a Web of Excellence)
Team 11 was a veteran group with 8 seniors the largest senior class in OHS history that wove a web of excellence throughout there season. Finishing the 11th season in school history with a record of 12-12. Team 11 had numerous accomplishments and honors. With quality wins over Orange Park (2), Matanzas, Sandalwood, Clay, Ridgeview, Bradford, Baker County, Fleming Island, Mandarin, and Nease. All the while playing an elite schedule full of teams that would go on to win district titles and qualify for the state playoffs (7 opponents made the state playoffs). From a season highlighted by plays and performances like a 28 point 4th quarter onslaught to beat rival Orange Park, to a remarkable district tourney run beating last years champ Mandarin and knocking off the top seed Nease in the semifinals, to the first team to have 4 players make double digit makes from 3 in a season (David Compere, Gage Cooper, Sean Dane, and Corey Humbles), to Markel stuffing the stat sheet at record pace for the second year in a row compiling 250+ points, 80+ rebounds, 60+ assists, 50+ blocks, and 50+ steals, to finishing 8th in team gpa in the State Championship for All Academic Team in FHSAA 7A. A district runner up and a berth in the State Playoffs to boot. A balanced, unselfish and super intelligent group that had 5 players average between 7 and 10 points per game. Team 12 was a talented group with 5 seniors and a large Junior class. Finishing the 12th season in school history with a record of 13-12. Team 12 had numerous accomplishments and honors. With quality wins over Pensacola, Matanzas, Sandalwood, Clay, Ridgeview, Bradford, University Christian, North Fort Myers, Palatka, Williston, Fleming Island, First Coast, Ed White. All the while playing an elite schedule full of teams that would go on to win district titles and qualify for the state playoffs (9 opponents made the state playoffs) 2 opponents won state titles of which your Knights knocked off Bradford who went on to win the the Class 1 A title, Oakleaf battled 6A State Champ Martin County giving them one of the best most competitive games of the season. Team 12 lived the team motto of Good To Great GTG, finishing 2nd in 7A Team Academic State Championship with a 3.466 team GPA. Senior David Compere set numerous records on his way to the best shooting season in Knights history:

The Knights battled all season despite some unfortunate injuries to secure the 3rd seed in the District tournament. A great season by a great bunch of Knights.

Team 13 Oakleaf vs. Everybody
Team 13 embraced the Oakleaf vs. Everybody motto and had the best season in school history. Leading the area in defense holding opponents to a area low 36.4 ppg while leading the area in scoring for most of the season. Team 13 went undefeated 9-0 at home, 6-0 in the county including a 30 point win vs. OP the largest margin of victory in the rivalries history. School record 19 game winning streak and a 20-1 regular season record. Knights captured the 3rd district championship in school history beating two top 10 ranked teams including beating the host team Ponte Vedra. Knights advanced to the sweet sixteen after winning the schools first state playoff game at home over Tate. Coach Price was name FACA 6A Region 6 Coach of the Year and overall all classifications Region 6 Coach of the Year. Four players signed to play college basketball. Team 13 was truly Gold Blooded.
